About
Doyul (Ian) Kim
Software Engineer · Rust & Distributed Systems
OrderX · Remote · Seoul, South Korea
Building the order & execution management system behind a real-time multi-asset trading terminal in Rust.
At OrderX, I work on market-data ingestion across providers and venues, the derivatives-analytics surface, and order execution: 20+ Rust microservices over NATS with time-series market data in QuestDB. Much of the job is failures that raise no error, like a half-open socket that left a feed dead for ten days while the process reported healthy.
Before that, at STCLab, the Rust backend and EKS infrastructure of a Kubernetes workload cost-optimization platform: DuckDB storage stabilization, alerting design, autoscaling redesign, and Terraform IaC.
Member of kube-rs, a production-grade open-source Kubernetes client for Rust, and author of kube-cel, which brings Kubernetes CEL validation to the client side.
